Hate the outdoors? Not too keen on crafts? Don’t despair! The Group Executive Committee is an important part of Scouting, and is critical to the integrity of the the Scout Group.
The Committee is made up of the following roles:
Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Supporters.
The Group Executive Committee is there to to make sure that the Scout Group has the
facilities and resources needed to deliver good Scouting in the Group. This includes:
Managing the Group’s property and equipment
Fundraising, and the administration of the Group’s finance
Organising public events
Assisting with the recruitment of Leaders and other adult support.
Trusted to make life better.
As well as the Chair, Sectretary, Treasurer, and Leaders there are also several Elected Members – elected by the Group Council at the Annual General Meeting. These are normally four to six parents (with young people in each section). They are vital in ensuring that the Scouting we deliver is what is wanted by the young people, and stays relevant and exciting.
