Promise, Law and Motto

The Cub Scout Promise:

I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queenworld emblem
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law.

The Cub Scout Law:

Cub Scouts always do their best
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn every day.

The Cub Scout Motto:

Be Prepared

Alternative Promise

Scouting is available to people of all faiths as well as people who are humanist, atheist or have no affirmed faith.

Similarly, people of other nationalities resident in the United Kingdom, owe allegiance to their own Country.
To meet these circumstances, there are different variations of the Promise that can be made, and Cubs are encouraged to explore which version best suits their own personal values.

Please feel free to talk to any of the Cubs leaders about the promise, or have a look at the Scout Association Scout Promise Factsheet.
